The end is nigh.

Troop EndNigh Hero

The end of the year, that is.

Don’t worry. This is not some doom and gloom post. There is far too much of that in the day-to-day news already. It’s scary to think that good things are happening, yet the mainstream media still avoid telling us about it. You have to seek out the good news. Good things are happening, though; it’s just a shame they’re not more visible.

Yes, we live in uncertain times. But times have probably always been uncertain, and a lot harder for the generations before us. Today, we are just more connected and, therefore, more susceptible to the gloom that’s pushed on us. You can only do what you can do, though. And if you’re ‘doing,’ then surely that’s a good thing. We all need to remember and celebrate that.

This year at Troop&Co, we have spoken about many of the things we believe in that allow us to do what we do at work and home. We’ve focused on concepts like Keeping it Simple, Why Your Manifesto Matters, The Importance of Culture, The Power of Small Networks, and Prototyping. All of these concepts allow us to make progress daily. Yes, some days you make more progress than others. And some days feel like you’re going backwards. That’s just the way it is.

This year we’ve had projects that started and then stopped, stopped and then started. Each began with a plan and morphed into something entirely different, evolving from seemingly straightforward paths into journeys full of unexpected twists and turns. Despite these challenges, it’s been a good year, filled with collaboration with some amazing people and the opportunity to meet many new ones.

If I had to pick one thing that stood out for us, and that has had the most impact on our day-to-day work, it would be culture. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always a work in progress, but it’s an absolute privilege to work with the team at Troop&Co, who are constantly striving to improve and innovate, as well as with our clients who truly understand our vision.

Everything starts with a conversation, often based on joint experience where both parties ask all the right questions. This dialogue helps to quickly gauge what it may be like to work together. However, it’s only when you start working together that you discover if it truly works or not.

As we reflect on another year, it’s clear that our journey has been shaped by the unwavering commitment and adaptability of our team, coupled with the understanding and collaboration of our clients. The experiences of this year were not just about achieving goals but also about learning and growth that comes from navigating the unexpected.

As I do often, I would like to thank again everyone at Troop&Co and all our clients who have journeyed with us. Your support and dedication have been invaluable. As we bid farewell to this year, we do so with anticipation and excitement for what 2024 holds. Here’s to continuing our journey together, exploring new horizons, and embracing the opportunities that await us.
